Research Assistant (Application Deadline: September 16, 2022, at 5:00 PM.)

The New Brunswick Black History Society is dedicated to the research, analysis, documentation, and preservation of New Brunswick's Black History.

NBBHS welcomes applications for the position of Research Assistant.
This is an 18-month term, part-time (20 hours per week), Rate of $20.00/hr.


Position Summary:
The research assistant will primarily focus on the following:
• To gather information concerning New Brunswick's Black residents, past & present.
• Ensure data is collected in a timely organized fashion
• Internet searches and collection of specific history documentation
• Scanning documentation, taking photos for presentation material and other outlined projects
• Assisting with survey questionnaires
• Store files securely, maintain confidentiality, and keep collected data organized.
• Provide support with reporting and other research duties as required.
• Report to project(s) leads
• Training will also be provided.


Requirements/Skills:
• Basic computer skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as excellent organizational skills.
• Volunteer/work experience in a non-profit environment is an asset.
• Previous experience working on research projects data collection is an asset but not required.
• Bilingualism is an asset but not required.
• A clean criminal record.

Administrative Support (Application Deadline: September 16, 2022, at 5:00 PM.)

The New Brunswick Black History Society is dedicated to the research, analysis, documentation, and preservation of New Brunswick's Black History.

NBBHS welcomes applications for the position of Administrative Support.
This is an 18-month term, part-time (12 hours per week), Rate of $17.00/hr.

Position Summary:
The Administrative Support position will primarily focus on the following:
• To assist project leads with current and new projects related to New Brunswick's Black residents, past & present.
• Assisting with survey questionnaires.
• Store files securely, maintain confidentiality, and keep all work organized.
• Assisting with daily operations of this location.
• Report to project(s) leads.
• Training will also be provided.
